Local, small batch roasted, veteran owned, Model Citizen Coffee Company introduces a landlocked country in Africa, Uganda.  This country sits almost perfectly along the equator. The Ugandan coffees are predominately Robusta beans (instant coffee), but 20% of them are of the Arabica variety.  These Arabica beans are grown in volcanic soil which delivers a certain richness to the flavor.  This Arabica is also grown at high altitude which allows the coffee to develop a sugary sweetness. Ugandan coffees are traditionally wet washed process granting a cleaner and crisper flavor.  Most of the farming in Uganda is done by small farmers who hand pick coffee cherries along the slopes of the mighty Rwenzori Mountain Range.  This medium roasted Ugandan has an even and balanced taste.
